Fearless Vampire Hunter is a stand-alone satellite book in the Codex Sohrakia multi-realm mythology. That said, you do not need to read Codex Sohrakia to enjoy this or my other books.

The Codex Sohrakia series is my universe’s philosophical foundation. Each of my other books, which are primarily stand-alone stories, is tied, to varying degrees, to the Codex Sohrakia series and to each other. If you want to understand the Dark Mythos behind Fearless Vampire Hunter and find the cross-references between my other tales, then check out my other works.

Kristen A. Peters (Reader’s Favorites)

“K.M. Taylor’s dark fantasy, Fearless Vampire Hunter, drops the reader into the life of a character who has basically spent every waking second hunting monsters. There’s no fluff here—it is just a person driven by a "stalwart path" that doesn't leave room for a normal life. The story follows this hunter through some really heavy, violent chapters, such as "First Kill" and "Heartbreak," showing exactly what it costs to live in the shadows for so long. Eventually, the mission starts to wind down, and the book delves into a really interesting question: what does a warrior do when the war is actually over? It’s a very focused look at someone trying to find a new identity after their old one has completely burned out.

The atmosphere in Fearless Vampire Hunter really stood out to me, because it feels so much grittier than a typical vampire story. K.M. Taylor avoids the "shiny" tropes and keeps things grounded in a dark, almost noir-style world. I liked the internal monologue of the Hunter; you get a genuine sense of a "fish out of water" who is then suddenly facing a future they never actually planned for. The pacing is quick, but it still manages to hit those quiet, heavy moments about what comes next for someone who only knows how to fight. The writing is sharp and does a great job of showing the wear and tear on a hero's soul. If you like fantasy that’s more about character and grit than just flashy magic, this one is a great choice. This book definitely belongs on your shelf with other vampire collections!”

Soddy (Amazon) ***** Early King meets Lovecraft with Anne Rice thrown in, Wow.

“Superb again from KM Taylor, one of the shining lights in Fantasy/Horror. I ate this up in 2 sessions. The pace is relentless, plenty of gore for the horror fans out there. It took me back to King's Salem's Lot a few times, then it turns everything on its head and makes you actually think, that's a rare thing these days. I cannot recommend this enough.

KM has created a whole universe with Codex Sohrakia and her previous novels, and this is part of that. If you don't like series, this is a standalone, but once you've read it, you will seek out Codex Sohrakia. It's mind-blowing stuff. Some of the greats are mentioned here Lovecraft, Brian Lumley, Anne Rice et al, this whole universe sits right up there for me for Lore, Prose, you will fear, you will laugh, and you will love this book.”
